Now that retirement is at the top of former WCCO anchor Don Shelby’s to-do list, he and wife Barbara are opting for new digs near the lake.
By way of designer/builder The Landschute Group, the Shelbys’ Excelsior home is set to reach LEED Platinum and Minnesota GreenStar Gold certifications—the first new home in the state to achieve such ratings. To do so, the build team is focusing on elements like reclaimed wood, energy-efficient technology and a self-contained storm-water management system.
Completion should be next spring.
