Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against this disease!

Happy Hour for Hunger

ICA Food Shelf is
excited to announce its annual Happy Hour for Hunger at Spasso is back!

Happy Hour for Hunger is a good excuse to leave the office behind
and enjoy a drink or two with the community! Come mix and mingle with your
neighbors while supporting a great cause. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

Hosted on the beautiful outdoor patio at Spasso- free
appetizers, a drawing, mystery bags and a silent auction are sure to provide a
great evening. One silent auction item features dinner and wine for 8 at
Spasso!

Shred Cancer

The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) and PROSHRED® Security
(Proshred) will host their fourth annual, nationwide “Shred Cancer”
event on Saturday, June 3. Community members are invited to bring their
personal documents to be securely shredded while raising funds for
cancer research around prevention.

Annual Excelsior Fashion Show "The Runway"

Excelsior’s
annual fashion show, “The Runway,” will take place on May 11, 2017, from 5:00 –
7:30pm at Pique Travel in downtown Excelsior. Like last year’s sold-out event, the
show will be emceed by Kate Raddatz of WCCO and feature the styles of 10 local
stores.

Expect the finest fare, fantastic fashions at our endless extravaganza. You will be greeted by miniature horses, military guardsmen. Enjoy a lavish luncheon and delectable drinks in Derby style. Derby through the Ages Fashion Show. Dozens of horses. Drawings. Games of chance, Silent and Live Auctions, Sensational Sounds & Captivating Cirque Cameo Performances, Hat Parade. Manes & Tales. Best dressed, best couple and best hat competition -- all with breathtaking views of the Mississippi.

Organization Description: Hammer Residences, Inc. is a Minnesota non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Founded in 1923 by Alvina Hammer, Hammer provides residential caring support for adult and children with developmental disabilities. Hammer Residences, Inc. serves more than 1500 individuals with a wide range of intellectual disabilities like Autism and Down syndrome. 275 adults reside in 36 group homes and 10 apartment programs in the western suburbs of Minneapolis.

Kids host art sale to benefit global missions

Four kids were inspired to earn money to help support global missions and created an art sale to make it happen.  A spirit of creativity and service has brought many others in the community to support them. You are invited to join in their annual art sale fundraiser as they present their efforts for sale. 100% of the proceeds benefit missionaries and ministries they are passionate about.  

Funds will support the SEND Transformation Christian Center in Lipetsk Russia and the Schmidt family joining Reach Global ministry in Indonesia.

Breanna’s Star: a Night of Art, Celebration and Giving

Breanna’s Star is a Night of Art, Celebration and
Giving in support of Breanna’s Gift, an organization bringing classes &
workshops in visual arts, dance, music, theater and “Art Takeout” to children
at Ronald McDonald House Upper Midwest and Children’s Minnesota in St. Paul and
Minneapolis. The event includes appetizers, wine and beer, silent and live
auctions, a make-it-yourself art project and entertainment by country/rock/swing
band Trailer Trash. Attire is casual.
