Excelsior Rotary hosts seventh annual Bingo & Burgers by the Bay event.

Since the first Bingo & Burgers by the Bay event in 2013, the Lake Minnetonka Excelsior Rotary Club (LMERC) has raised over $120,000 to help fund the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce’s Fourth of July fireworks, a beloved—but expensive—local tradition. Additional funds from the event benefit a variety of other local charities, like the ICA Food Shelf. This year’s event features 30 games of bingo throughout the afternoon, plus 10 raffle drawings, tasty treats (like burgers and kettle corn) and live music. Event chair Dave Petroske says the Rotary wants to “bring people into Excelsior for a day of fun, with hopes of them patronizing local businesses…We raise money to give it away—and have fun doing it.” It’s also the perfect time of year, he says. “The weather has started to get a little nicer, people are anxious to start getting outside, and our event provides them with a chance to have a fun afternoon with family, friends and neighbors.” Yep—bingo happens in a big, beautiful tent right on Lake Minnetonka.
