Lake Minnetonka Public Golf Courses

This season, enjoy the variety of great public golf courses in the Lake Minnetonka area.

In the land of 10,000 lakes, there are also hundreds of golf courses. This summer, explore these five courses right here in our own backyard. Whether you’re a novice or experienced golfer, there’s a lake area course for you to enjoy.

Lakeview Golf Course
Golfers of all levels can look forward to a satisfying round at Lakeview Golf Course near Lake Minnetonka. The beautifully maintained, 18-hole course covers 130 acres of rolling hills with few water hazards and no sand traps. A variety of leagues and individual players enjoy this 70 par course. “When you’re done with a round, you feel like you’ve had a great time,” explains course manager David Eidahl. Pioneer Creek Golf Course

Just a short drive out of the city will take golfers to the serene landscape of Pioneer Creek Golf Course. A grass driving range, large putting greens and a course professionally designed by Joel Goldstrand are features that make this appealing to all golfers. Whether you are interested in joining a league, taking lessons or golfing the 18-hole course with friends, Pioneer Creek is a good fit. According to manager Marcia Kreklow, “This course is challenging, but the five-tee choices on the holes allow anybody to enjoy it.” New equipment will keep the greens in shape this year, while a new online tee time system and check-in system will keep things moving in the clubhouse. 705 Copeland Rd., Maple Plain; 952.955.3982

Baker National Golf Course
The surroundings of Baker National Golf Course offer a unique experience for golfers of all abilities. Only 10 minutes from Highway 494, this course provides a natural environment in the heart of the Baker Park Reserve. The Audubon-certified course emphasizes environmentally friendly practices to maintain the 18 championship holes and 9 executive holes. In addition to its peaceful landscape, the course offers a practice area, a large driving range, lessons, leagues and camps. Orono Golf Course
Just to the north of Lake Minnetonka, players can take in a round at the Orono Golf Course. Built in 1924, this course was the first public golf course with grass greens in Minnesota. Today, this 9-hole course offers a variety of leagues and opportunities for individual golfers. While the course is playable for all levels, elevated greens, surrounding woods and holes with water provide a challenge. Glen Lake Golf and Practice Center
Golfers looking to improve their swing can take advantage of the Glen Lake Golf and Practice Center in Minnetonka. A driving range, short-game practice area and a nine-hole recreational course offer a variety of opportunities for golfers. Five adult leagues, four junior leagues and lessons make this course a place for everyone.
