Now that retirement is at the top of former WCCO anchor Don Shelby’s to-do list, he and wife Barbara are opting for new digs near the lake.
Talk about happily ever after. Recently Stages Theatre Company and the city of Hopkins renewed the theater’s lease, allowing the group to stay in the Hopkins Center for the Arts for another 15 years. The negotiation was a collaborative effort, aligning the missions of each party involved.
This summer, Anything Goes will take the stage as the Minnetonka Theatre performs this age-old Broadway favorite.
The wind has always whistled across Warren Krohn’s 700-acre family farm in Nicollet County. Recently the farmer decided to do something about it. Six windmills now stand 160 feet tall on or near his family’s land. When the turbines spin, the wind becomes what Krohn sees as a new cash crop.
“I thrive outside,” enthuses Bradley Agee. “There’s something about being in the moment: in the sun, digging in the soil, placing the plant. It’s about promise—a hopeful gesture—and in this climate, it’s also a lesson in patience.”
