Back in 1948 at Butler University, four guys created a vocal harmony group called The Four Freshmen. They were a jazz quartet with a sound so original and inspirational, even The Beach Boys took notice!

“I captured this photo during one of the last sails of the season this past summer. With the waves reflecting off the hull of the boat and the glow of the sun peeking out from behind the sail, I leaned over the side to take this picture right at water level.

“It’s not your traditional lake view,” admits Paul Walser, “but we like it.” He’s speaking of the unique 1910 Wayzata cottage he and his family purchased three years ago, perched on a verdant slope of land above a busy marina, public beach, volleyball courts and a bike trail.

After several years of living abroad in Switzerland, Chris and Diahann Potter began plans to move back to the Twin Cities. Having lived around Lake Minnetonka before, the couple knew they would like to have a place to stay during their extended summer holidays in Minnesota.

“The Minnesota Horticulture Research Center typically grows some very interesting plants in addition to the research grapes and apples that most people are familiar with. I'm good friends with the specialist there and visit frequently with my camera in the fall when everything is in full color.
