Sick of hearing about dogs yet? Well, apparently the lake community is on the same page as I am because this fall has been all about the events for the pooches. This weekend is no different: Two great lake-area businesses are partnering to raise funds for the Top Dog Foundation, a local organization that rescues and finds homes for older dogs who seem un-adoptable because of age or health. On Saturday, Sept. 21, Excelsior Brewing Company and Top Dog Country Club come together to bring you a beer and fun-filled “Yappy Hour” with their Howlin’ for Growlers event. Excelsior Brewing Company has been blowing up in recent months, with local press and accolades for its delicious brews (they’re even featured in this month’s issue!). We love the feel they bring to the lake area and we love that they’re dedicated to more than just a good pint. Top Dog Country Club is renowned for its luxury extended-stay (don’t call it a kennel!) facilities for pups. It’s been featured in The New York Times, on the Today show and on Animal Planet for its staff’s ability to create a home-away-from-home feel for your best friend. So, grab your pooch and head to Excelsior Brewing this weekend for a Big Island Blonde and know you’re drinking for a good cause!
