The Orono Schools Early Learning Programs will once again be sponsoring the annual Kids’ Stuff Sale on Saturday, September 27, 2014. This popular event will take place from 9am-2pm at the Discovery Center, 5050 Independence Street, Maple Plain.
Offering much more variety and selection than a single garage sale, the sale offers buyers great values on gently used times such as children’s clothing (Infants to Teen sizes), toys, baby equipment, books, maternity clothes, and more. The Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Historical Society (ELMHS) dives a little deeper into local history with its October “Tapping History” event.
Recent surveys have confirmed the existence of more than 35 maritime wrecks on the bottom of Lake Minnetonka. Archaeologists and historians Ann Merriman and Christopher Olson, co-founders of Maritime Heritage Minnesota, will describe the most prominent of these wrecks, share underwater photos and footage, and discuss the significance of the wrecks to Minnesota's maritime heritage.
