Help the Nature Center study and record wildlife observations during the current season. Option to bring your own camera, smartphone or tablet and download the iNaturalist app ahead of time.  If rainy, program will be cancelled.

Dazzling Dragonflies and Damselflies!

(For children ages 3-8, with adult)

Dazzling colors and zippy flights. Do YOU have what it takes? Catch and release dragonflies and damselflies in the gardens and prairie. Use nets and magnifying lenses to help you catch and observe these amazing creatures.

Keeping Score for the Minnesota Twins

Ever wonder who decides when a baseball play is judged an error or what difference it makes if a play is declared a wild pitch or passed ball? Find out as Stew Thornley, official scorer of the Minnesota Twins, explains his role and shares his experiences as an official MLB scorer.

K9 Crime Fighters

Officer Tom Dunnwald from the Brooklyn Park police department will explain how K9s are used in police work and will present obedience and narcotic detection demonstrations with his K9 partner, Kilo. Will meet outdoors if weather permits.

Join us at the Stillwater Public Library on Tuesday, May 29 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. as we journey down the Namekagon and St. Croix rivers with award-winning photographer Craig Blacklock and music by Stillwater singer/songwriter Peter Mayer. Craig Blacklock will be discussing his new book, "St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers - The Enduring Gift." He will show videos with original music with a live performance by Peter Mayer.  Program begins at 6:30 PM with book signing before and after.
