Kids Fest

February is “We Love Our Kids” month, and to celebrate, Minnetonka hosts an annual event geared just for the little ones. Planners create a wintry wonderland chock-full of kid-friendly activities and events. The Mitten

The Mitten, a classic children’s tale by Jan Brett, highlights curiosity, a chilly winter and a game of finders keepers. When Nicki drops his mitten in the snow, several animals soon take up residence and quickly expand the mitten’s capabilities. Stages Theatre Company created a ballet–inspired stage version of the book years ago and is bringing it back for the theater’s 30th season. Check the website for show times. 952.979.1111. Food Science

Sheep and pigs, soaps and wool—Gale Woods Farm specializes in not only caring for animals, but also in education. Kids can discover the science behind Gale Woods Farm-produced foods and specialties. Hunter Marionettes

Kurt and Kathy Hunter launched their puppetry collaboration 20 years ago. The Hunters sing, juggle and pull the strings on their entertaining  puppets.
