Luck o’ the Lake 5K Run

Channel the luck of the Irish on the day o’ the green (or close to it). Sponsored by the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce and Jake O’Connors, the 5K Fun Run invites all participants to celebrate St. Patty’s Day. The Commons Workplace will be on hand to offer complimentary beverages post-race, as well as pre- and post-run yoga sessions. FARE Walk for Food Allergy, Minneapolis

The Fare Walk for Food Allergy brings together thousands of people seeking a safer world for the 15 million Americans with food allergies. The walk is a family-friendly event that will raise funds for food allergy research, education, advocasy and awareness. This special day in Minneapolis will include fun activities for the entire family. North American Pond Hockey Championships

Minnesota hockey players take to the rinks in pond hockey competitions. Excelsior’s North American Pond Hockey tournament includes four divisions, divided by gender and age group. The weekend also features a performance by Hitchville on Friday night. All proceeds benefit charitable causes, including Defending the Blue Line, which provides funds so kids in military families can play hockey. $500 per men’s team, $300 per women’s team. Arctic Fever

You’re cold, shivering and a bit stir-crazy. Your diagnosis? Arctic fever. Explore Tonka Bay, Shorewood and Excelsior to combat the winter blues. The weekend kicks off with a snow sculpture competition on Friday; view masterpieces while nibbling on pizza from Joey Nova’s.
