SUMMARY:Modern Irish Flavors for St. Patrick's Day
DESCRIPTION:St. Patrick’s Day cooking is often defined by a narrow set of expectations\, but Irish food has always been more layered than a single holiday plate. In this demonstration and tasting class\, Chef Cheo offers a fresh perspective on traditional Irish flavors\, exploring recipes\, techniques and presentations that feel both familiar and unexpected. \nRooted in land\, weather and history\, Irish cooking favors hearty ingredients and dishes meant to sustain and bring people together. Instead of repeating the usual corned beef and cabbage\, the class reimagines classic elements with thoughtful updates — turning soda bread into tender scones\, enriching cottage pie with Guinness and reshaping beloved flavors into new\, shareable forms that still honor their origins. The result is an engaging experience that balances tradition with creativity and offers new ways to enjoy Irish-inspired cooking well beyond March. Enter the grounds: Farm at the Arboretum\, for the Kitchen Classroom. See website for ticketing.

SUMMARY:"Faith Through Hard Times: A Brain Cancer Testimony" Book Launch
DESCRIPTION:Gilda’s Club Minnesota is excited to spotlight new author\, Ryla Ecker\, as she releases her inspiring memoir: Faith Through Hard Times: A Brain Cancer Testimony. \nOn the day before her high school graduation\, Ryla learned she had an aggressive form of brain cancer called high-grade glioma. Diagnosed earlier in life with the rare disorder neurofibromatosis type 1\, Ryla’s health journey took a life-altering turn. While her identical twin sister\, Rinoa\, shared the condition but did not develop cancer\, Ryla faced a different path—one filled with challenges\, faith\, and resilience. \nIn her book\, Ryla shares how her faith in God was strengthened during her most difficult moments and offers hope to others navigating cancer or life’s toughest trials. \nJoin us at Gilda’s Club for a special book launch reception and Q&A session with Ryla. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from her about her writing journey\, her lived experience\, and the message of hope she wishes to share.

SUMMARY:Real Runabouts Rendezvous
DESCRIPTION:The Land-O-Lakes Classic Boat Club is hosting their annual vintage boat show—The Real Runabouts Rondezvous—at the docks at Lord Fletchers on Lake Minnetonka. \nFriday’s cruise and lunch are always a highlight of the weekend and not to be missed. The day starts at 9 a.m. at the newly constructed Panoway on Wayzata Bay docks for a quick photo opportunity. We recommend launching your boat across the bay at the Grey’s Bay Public boat landing\, however there is also a smaller public launch located adjacent to the Panoway on Wayzata Bay that is closer but less parking spots potentially. From there\, we’ll cruise Lake Minnetonka in parade formation\, arriving approximately 11 a.m. at Al & Almas waterfront Supper Club for a private group lunch. After lunch\, cruise participants will have the option to continue an afternoon parade cruise\, or to cruise on your own. After the cruise\, you’re welcome to reload your boat\, or tie up at the Lord Fletcher’s Old Lake Lodge docks (overnight at your own risk if you like). Then\, we’ll regroup at Lord Fletcher’s for happy hour with cash bar at 5 p.m.\, and our private group Rendezvous Dinner at 6 p.m.
