DESCRIPTION:Interested in sailing but not sure where to start? New and want to improve your skills? Already a sailor and want to learn about racing? \n\n\nWho’s invited? Visitors curious about sailboats! \nCome learn about the different types of sailboats we have at Wayzata Yacht Club (WYC). You’ll get to go out sailing on a boat (if you’d like)\, learn how to board (embark on) a boat\, learn why knots are important and perhaps help hoist a sail\, be at the helm and learn a few basic sailing skills. \nWYC is primarily a sailboat racing club. But\, this event is our exception to the rule — on this day\, we help you just learn about sailing in general. \nDesignated boats and experienced skippers will be on-hand to ensure you have the opportunity to safely try sailing right on the water. Note: you will be required to sign a liability waiver. \nReserve your spot today. \nPark in either the West or East parking and look for the “Just try it” signage by the clubhouse. We’ll get you registered and assigned to a boat. \n\nBring a water bottle (there is a water fountain) and sunscreen\nWear non-marking\, non-slip or soft-soled shoes or sneakers and clothes you don’t mind getting wet.\n\nWe’ll provide life jackets (aka PFD’s).

DESCRIPTION:The Details\n\nFebruary 11\, 10 A.M.\n$45–$90\nTickets \nSince 1984 thousands of hearty Minnesotans head to Lake Minnetonka for this unique frozen golf event to celebrate our “chilly” winter season. Our great team of volunteers carve out three 9-hole courses right out on the ice. Each year\, over 1\,800 golfers come from all around with their golf clubs and hockey sticks to putt with tennis balls around Wayzata Bay. So start gathering your squad and mark your calendar – golf tickets are on sale December 1\, 2022. This year’s theme is Vegas\, Baby! \nIn addition to the ticketed golf tournament\, there are several other “chilly” activities like Cinema & Skates\, Snowga\, Snowkiting\, and more!
