Learn about artists who teach at a PechaKucha Sunday, Jan. 20, 6 p.m. Art Force will host the free, open-to-public event at 1400 Van Buren St. NE. In this fast-paced format, artists show and explain work with 20 slides in 20 seconds each.
The program will feature Susan Armington, Suzann Beck, Marko Fields, Candy Kuehn, Layl McDill, Ernest Miller, Malcom Potek, Wayne Potratz, and Denise Tennen. Audience discussion and questions follow after all have presented.
Artists will address how and why teaching informs their artistic practice, what students gain from their educational experience, and how teachers implement their teaching philosophies into their curriculum.
PechaKuchas are a signature event of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District’s HATCH committee, which is dedicated to assessing and filling the need for an arts center, whether in a physical space or online.
