Four years ago, then-newlyweds Katie Diederichs and Ben Zweber quit their full-time jobs, loaded up a backpack each and boarded a cheap flight to Colombia. Their plan was to spend three months backpacking throughout South America, but even now, their adventure has yet to really end.
The 13-acre Excelsior Commons park area was designed with summer nights in mind, with public recreation space, playgrounds, swimming areas, sports facilities and restrooms flanking beautiful Lake Minnetonka in the heart of bustling Excelsior.
When the going gets tough, therapy might well be the answer. Although the word might conjure images of sitting on a couch across from a therapist with a clipboard, that’s far from the only form this practice can take. In equine-assisted therapy, the session might be in a stable or pasture.
Joining the Excelsior Fire District as a firefighter recruit is a way to help save lives and serve the community. The district is looking to increase their numbers from the 39 current responders to the 50 total allotted in the budget.
