Popular eatery serves famous Mother’s Day brunch.

Mother’s Day is this month, which means one of the biggest Sunday brunches of the year at Maynard’s in Excelsior.

The eatery’s popular Mother’s Day brunch features some extra-special items and staff favorites. Head chef Tom Miller mentions the usual delicious fare: fruit, muffins, waffles, salads and made-to-order omelets. But what really makes this brunch magnificent, Miller says, is the carving station, exclusive to Mother’s Day. Maynard’s serves up hand-carved tenderloin, smoked ribs and spiral-sliced ham. “The best thing we add by far is that tenderloin,” says Miller.

General manager Jack Stevens offers one tip for a successful brunch on Mother’s Day: Making a reservation, while not required, is highly recommended.
