Pooches in the Park

Top etiquette tips for using Saint Paul’s great dog parks.

Here are three dog park etiquette recommendations from Brad Meyer, public services manager at Saint Paul Parks and Recreation:

  1. Always bring plastic bags to clean up after your dog.
  2. Keep an eye on your dog at all times. Be prepared to intervene if a scuffle occurs, and move to a different area of the park, if necessary.
  3. If your dog has a history of being aggressive, or is sensitive or fearful around other dogs, the dog park might not be a good fit. Meyer says dogs in heat, and those who have not been neutered or spayed, should not visit dog parks.
