Spring on the Porch

Spruce up your outdoor space with tips from Harvest Home.

With spring in the air, what’s better than sitting on the porch with a good book or a glass of wine? Harvest Home in Wayzata takes pride in helping its customers enjoy the ambiance of their outdoor spaces. Brothers Mark and Bob Bradley, owners of Harvest Home, share their best porch-prep tips with us.

It’s OK to be shady. The Bradleys say that “most porches in Minnesota are built to create a shade environment.” Read labels closely when selecting shade-friendly plants like ferns, ivy and coleus.

Get creative with containers. Experiment with eugenia topiaries, which come in a variety of shapes and bring height and interest to potted plants. Hanging baskets and planted chandeliers are a fun addition.
