Now that’s hitting a high note. Last December, the Wayzata Women’s Chorus was chosen to compete at the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales—a worldwide celebration of song and dance featuring more than 20 high-level competitions. The chorus is one of only four groups selected from the United States.
“It’s the big one,” choral member Connie Gotthilf says. “We’ve gone to several competitions before and received awards, so I think we’re ready for it.”
The group leaves July 3; the competition runs July 4–10. —Molly Kentala Broman
We asked members of the Wayzata Women’s Chorus to keep a travel log of their journey. Keep your eyes peeled for a follow-up story this fall once the group returns from their trip abroad.
