Do you like exercise with enticing pit stops that include sweets and beer? Amy’s Cupcake Shoppe will host its 3rd annual Bakery & Brewery Bike Tour on August 15, 2020.
The tour will begin at 9 a.m. at Amy’s Cupcake Shoppe. Participants will then pedal to Excelsior to visit the new Red Bench Bakery and Excelsior Brewery. Next on the itinerary is Victoria where bikers stop at Ruby’s Roost Bakery & Café and Enki Brewing. To prepare for the ride, Healthsource Hopkins will provide chair massages and cupping for riders. And to rejuvenate afterwards, Center of Movement will also provide chair massages.
This bike and bakery tour was originated by a regular customer at Amy’s Cupcake Shoppe who is an avid bike rider and bakery lover. The ride has grown over the years with 100 riders participating last year. Riders are asked to prepare for any kind of weather. However, last year, when participants encountered rain, a few riders took advantage of the option to drive to the locations instead. The tour is a “go-as-you-want ride” giving participants the freedom to enjoy each location as long as they like.
You can look forward to riding 16 miles both ways on a beautiful, flat and shaded trail. The tour partners with Tonka Cycle & Ski in Hopkins that will provide extra bike helmets for anyone who doesn’t have equipment. Participants under 21 can ride for free–the cost of each ticket includes a treat at each bakery, a beer at each brewery, a performance t-shirt, a water bottle and any donated items from sponsors.
