Capturing the essence of a hot summer day along Lake Minnetonka with the spirit of childhood is what drew our photo contest panel to this image taken by Amy Frye, who enjoys taking photos in and around Excelsior, Deephaven and Wayzata.
“The light was perfect, and it seemed like summer in a photo,” Frye says, noting that she took the image as she looked toward the fishing dock at Deephaven Beach. Her grade school-age son, Axel, and several of his neighborhood friends took joyful advantage of the day’s heat by leaping into the ready, refreshing lake water.
