March 18, 2023 @ 11:30 am - 3:00 pm

$15
Native American storyteller Hope Flanagan.

Celebrate the art of four regional Indigenous artists showing their work in the Arboretum’s Reedy Gallery at a special celebration for “Visions from the Land: Native Interpretations,” an exhibit that runs through March 26. Each artist — James Autio, Gordon Coons, Anna Johnson and Ivy Vainio — uses a different technique or process to produce captivating art inspired by the natural world.

During the celebration, enjoy:

  • Light hor’s d’oeuvres and beverages from Pow Wow Grounds, which specializes in Indigenous cuisines.
  • Tours of the Reedy Gallery with the artists throughout the day.
  • A Meet & Greet with artist Ramona Morrow, recognized nationally for her beadwork, jewelry and cattail dolls.
  • At noon: A panel discussion with the Indigenous artists facilitated by Wendy DePaolis, the Arboretum’s Curator of Art and Sculpture.
  • At 1 and 2 p.m.: The art of Native American storytelling in the round with noted storyteller Hope Flanagan.

Advance registration is required for this event, which includes admission to the Arboretum. Cost is $15 for ages 16 and older, and free for members and ages 15 and younger.

Indigenous peoples receive waived general daily admission to the Arboretum when making a reservation by calling 612-301-6775. When requesting tickets, please specify that you need a ticket for the celebration.
