Jump on the music festival bandwagon this summer.

Let out your wild side—just for a weekend. For our summer entertainment issue, let’s chat about trips that revolve around destination music and entertainment festivals. It’s become a big thing in tourism: annual events such as Coachella, South by Southwest or even Burning Man. New festivals are popping up all over with various niches, and many are becoming family-friendly. So how can you experience a destination festival?

Traditionally, you can camp on site. But many are close enough to a metro area for a commute, if you’d prefer. Book a hotel room and take in as much of the scene as you can, with a respite from all of the craziness. But our biggest tip is to take in the moment and embrace the wild!

If music isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other destination festivals to consider for foodies, film aficionados … take your pick. Festivals bring people from all over the world together in a shared love, to discover new things and meet new people—and offer the chance to be a kid again.
