Minnetonka Choral Society Presents “Path to a Premiere”

Featuring a newly commissioned work from Elaine Hagenberg.

How does a composer move from an idea (and a text) to a composition? We’ll answer this with our premier of Aeterna Via (Eternal Way) by America’s choral master, Elaine Hagenberg, which Minnetonka Choral Society collaboratively commissioned. We’ll set the stage with Elaine’s earlier works: two meditative and two propulsive, from Illuminare. We’ll explore how a composer changes and grows through early and late works by Mozart, and by showcasing music from which Elaine’s artistry grew, The Road Not Taken by Randall Thompson. We are proud to trace an artistic journey with this rising musical creator in our Path to a Premier.
