Whether you can perform a toe loop, Lutz or Salchow or gingerly edge your way along the boards, outdoor ice skating in one of Minnesotans’ favorite pastimes. Staying active this time of year is important for our physical and mental health, and spending some time in the crisp winter air can be a great elixir for a bout of cabin fever.

Several area communities offer outdoor ice skating rinks for skaters of all abilities. Be sure to dress for the weather, and note that not all rinks include warming houses. Some rinks might be devoted to hockey, so know before you go.
