The Historic Shores of the Upper Lake

The Lake Minnetonka Historical Society (LMHS) will present a Lake Minnetonka history cruise aboard Paradise Charter’s Destiny II, departing from the Port of Excelsior from 1–4 p.m. on October 4. Tickets begin at $44.52 and are available online at upperlakecruise.eventbrite.com.

This cruise will offer a rare opportunity for passengers to experience Lake Minnetonka as people did 150 years ago. Historians will narrate a route similar to those followed by giant steamers Belle of Minnetonka and City of St. Louis as we travel aboard the Destiny II through the “new” Narrows, past the sites of the Halsteads’ “Hermitage,” Casco Point, the Upper Lake islands and more. On LMHS’ final cruise of the season, passengers can spend the afternoon relaxing while viewing some early fall colors and enjoying a cash bar with spirits and soft drinks.
