The country club continues to embark on new and exciting improvements.
Lake Minnetonka’s Lafayette Club has undergone, and continues to plan, many changes to its historic Crystal Bay venue. The country club is known for its strong ties to the community, providing multiple athletic and social opportunities for members. The stunning property along the shore of Lake Minnetonka includes golf courses, pools, tennis courts and other programming that takes place year-round.
Lafayette Club’s expansion began over the course of 2025. Notably, it announced a reciprocity agreement with Windsong Farm Golf Club in January, which grants its members access to Windsong’s two 18-hole golf courses.
The Lafayette Club also kicked off an $8.8 million dollar infrastructure improvement plan to begin restoring the club’s 100-year-old clubhouse. Planned to take two years, the first phase was completed in October with the second set to commence in April 2026. It is also tackling a renovation of the club’s William Watson 9-hole course by contracting the Lehman Design Group (LDG) to oversee the course’s development. “There is truly no other place like Lafayette Club,” says Tom Lehman, LDG president and former pro golfer. “Our goal over the coming years is to make it incrementally better in every way without losing the fun and the charm that makes the club what it is.”
The club also welcomed new leadership this year with the announcement of the new general manager, Al Jader. After a thorough search process, Jader’s two-decade career at private clubs across the country showed his commitment to leadership. “I want to build on Lafayette Club’s tradition of greatness and hospitality with consistently exceptional service that surprises and delights,” Jader says. “I want members to feel like this is their second home, a place where they and their family can relax and have fun.”
