Minnetonka Theatre invites audiences to rediscover the magic behind the story of Peter Pan.

Minnetonka Theatre presents Minnesota’s local premiere of Finding Neverland, inspired by the true story of playwright J.M. Barrie’s creation of Peter Pan. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. November 7, 14, 20, 21 and 28; and at 2 p.m. November 15 and 22.

“This show has a little bit of everything,” says artistic director Trent Boyum, highlighting the musical’s inspirational aspects and humor. “The music is unbelievable, and there’s ballads, but there’s also super fun uplifting songs. So our hope is to really bring out the child in our audience.”

Featuring a cast of approximately 55 student performers and an even larger backstage crew, the production combines large sets, Gilded Age costumes and a pop-rock score. Boyum says the main theme of the show is imagination—something his theater students are great at conveying. “They live in the world of imagination,” he says.

Audience members might be please to note that the production is partnering with the ICA Food Shelf. Visit minnetonkatheatre.com for tickets and details.
