A reinvented lights display is coming to the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Northern Lights highlights the beauty of the arboretum’s wintery nighttime landscape and transforms the grounds into a light-filled wonderland. It opens to the public on November 20 and runs through January 3.

The new light show illuminates the beauty of various species of trees through dramatic, colorful uplighting. Northern Lights reflects the arboretum’s mission as a living museum, which is dedicated to the cultivation, study and display of cold-hardy trees, woody shrubs, and endangered and rare plants.

The arboretum contains roughly 46,000 trees across 1,200 acres, including nationally recognized tree collections. Viewing a tree species for the very first time is its own joy. Imagine the additional beauty of seeing tree forms shaped in light during the evening.

Learn more about the displays, and reserve tickets at arb.umn.edu.
