Lake Minnetonka Magazine November 2026

November’s arms embrace us in autumnal joy, leading us toward the holiday season—unless you start celebrating on Halloween! Regardless, excitement builds as we prepare to gather with family and friends to feast upon gratitude and togetherness.

While thinking about this column, I asked Editorial Advisory Board member Mary Cornelius, communications specialist with Minnetonka Public Schools, if there were student writers in the district who would like to submit a piece for this space that speaks to the season. While it was most difficult to choose which poem to run, join me in welcoming Millie Stano, a seventh grader at Minnetonka Middle School West, with Thanksgiving. She writes about the days leading up to her family’s celebration, and it’s a gentle reminder that, as the adults in a household orchestrate the preparations, there might be small eyes and hearts eagerly watching and taking it all in! (Visit lakeminnetonkamag.com for more seasonal poetry.)

From all of us at Lake Minnetonka Magazine, we are continually grateful for our loyal readers, followers and advertisers—and young writers, such as Millie!

Until next time,
