Writers share their artistic sides through words.
Community members of all ages are filled with gratitude and autumnal spirit. Editorial Advisory Board member Mary Cornelius, communications specialist with Minnetonka Public Schools, was asked if there were student writers in the district who would like to submit pieces to the magazine that speak to the season.
Our team at Lake Minnetonka Magazine is pleased to support emerging writers of all ages, and it is our pleasure to share other fall musings by these young writers.

Ode to Fall
Leaves blowing in the breeze
Jumping in leaf piles, millions of smiles
Bright bold colors so much fun playing underneath the sun
Ready for hibernation I see sadly there are no more bees
School is starting no more fun no more playing in the sun
Looking out the windows of school wishing that there were no rules
Wishing I could jump in the leaves and feel the amazing breeze
Inside working hard all day wishing I could go out and play
There are always ups and downs of fall, sometimes I don’t quite love them all
Oh fall I love you so and I always hate to see you go —Audrey Paleen, a seventh grader at Minnetonka Middle School West
Good Morning Fall
A crisp morning in fall
like tea stains on the wall
my toe’s in the sand
the birds chirp
as the worms they slurp
the dry leaves fall
as I watch it all
I let my worries go
as the cold water flows
summer has ended
and fall has just begun
the wind blows my hair
the cool crisp air
Good morning fall —Elin Conley, a seventh grader at Minnetonka Middle School West
Untitled
Fall is coming bring the north wind
All the colors red, orange and yellow all very bright
Leaves leaving the tree, swirling, whirling and spinning
Leaving the trees to a bed of brown —Elizabeth Hogg, a seventh grader at Minnetonka Middle School West
