What you need to know about the second season of this winter wonderland.
January 26 update: Ice Palace Minnesota announced in a press release that the last day of the season will be January 28 due to the warm weather. “This winter has certainly been an adventure—one we hoped would last a little longer, but we are thankful for the time we’ve had in Delano and everyone who worked tirelessly to make it happen,” general manager Anna Smith says. Ticketholders for dates after January 27 will be contacted with options to refund or transfer their tickets to 2025.
January 15 update: Ice Palace Minnesota is officially set to open January 21.
The Ice Palace Minnesota is constructing its frozen phenomenon in Delano’s Central Park this December. “After receiving such a warm welcome last year, we are thrilled to be returning with a bigger and better Ice Palace experience for our friends in Minnesota,” says general manager Anna Smith in a press release.
The over 90,000-square-foot ice palace is introducing new attractions alongside last year’s favorites, including a 40-foot-tall ice mountain, kid-sized tunnels through glacial ice formations and a VIP yurt experience.
“Minnesotans know how to make the most of the cold winter months, and we are grateful to be part of Minnesota’s rich winter tradition of spending time outside with friends and family when the temperature dips below freezing,” Smith says.
After exploring over 300 feet of colorfully lit tunnels, slides and ice art formations, visitors have the opportunity to meet an assortment of beloved winter characters, try the treats of rotating local food and beverage vendors or warm up in the glow of cracking fire pits.
Opening day is scheduled for January 25, weather permitting. Once complete, The Ice Palace Minnesota will be open 5–9 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays; 2–9 p.m. on Saturdays through the end of February.
