“Summer in the Lake Minnetonka area for me is about color, beautiful sunsets, people out and about, and outdoor seating at restaurants.”

Each month, we feature one of the winning photos from our 2018 Lens on Lake Minnetonka photo contest. This month, we asked photographer Nancy Cohodes to tell us about “Land Canoeing,” which received third place in our Activities & Events category.

What kind of camera did you use?
I used my Canon SL1.

When and where did you take the photo?
I took the photo on Gray’s Bay [on Lake Minnetonka].

What’s your favorite thing about the image?
The canoe reminded me of my lack of canoe experience—therefore, the title: “Land Canoeing.” That I can do! Summer in the Lake Minnetonka area for me is about color, beautiful sunsets, people out and about, and outdoor seating at restaurants.

Where can we find your photos locally?
I now sell my photos at The Landing Shop, a volunteer-staffed shop of Minnetonka artists.

Submit your photos in August to our 2019 Lens on Lake Minnetonka contest.
