Pip & Pal hosts a thoughtfully chosen selection of small, handmade brands that are ethically produced.
Nestled on Excelsior’s Water Street is an impeccably curated shop full of baby and kids’ clothing (and accessories) that would make any modern mama swoon. Co-owner Chloe Lappen (also the co-owner of indie favorite Gray Home + Lifestyle) says, “Pip & Pal has developed into something very special for us. It’s so rewarding to help mothers, grandmothers and friends pick out items for the little ones in their lives. And we love finding pieces for the shop that you wouldn’t normally find at any store in Minnesota.” The shop hosts a thoughtfully chosen selection of small, handmade brands that are ethically produced. (Lappen says that means they’re “produced in good working conditions, with safe products and no harmful chemicals.”) Clothing, which is available in sizes from newborn to 6 years, comes from California, Australia, Brazil, Amsterdam and other global regions, and features a lot of organic and natural fibers and colors. “We like to have some pieces that are unisex, so that items may be passed down to all the children in your family,” adds Lappen.
A particular gem of Pip & Pal is its selection of gorgeous nursery artwork, most of which is made by local artists and craftspeople.
And this summer, the shop plans to host a variety of workshops, too—like yoga for babies, kids and moms; art classes; plant workshops; ice cream socials and more. And don’t miss the monthly summer story time on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. To stay up to date on events and news, follow Pip & Pal on social media (Facebook: Pip & Pal, Instagram: @pipandpal).
