The Marsh is a health and wellness center nestled in a scenic marshland in Minnetonka, and a perennial winner on our “Best of” lists.

It seems that everywhere you turn there’s a super-targeted health and wellness service: smoothie bars, Pilates studios, acupuncturists and more. The options can be overwhelming. That’s what makes The Marsh so unique; it offers everything in one place. Founded in 1985 by Ruth Stricker, The Marsh is a health and wellness center nestled in a scenic marshland in Minnetonka, and a perennial winner on our “Best of” lists. In addition to acupuncture, facials and therapeutic massage, the spa offers pedicures to buff and polish toenails while offering solutions for any underlying issues with a patient’s feet. The fitness center is staffed with exercise specialists with four-year degrees, who are also trained to provide instruction specifically to individuals ages 40+.

“One of the main things we pride ourselves on is helping people to keep doing what they love,” says Heidi Moon, program director and director of program marketing at The Marsh. “We don’t think aches and pains have to be a normal part of aging, and we work to train the body to stay healthy.”

In its mission to foster holistic health, The Marsh also serves nutritious food at its on-site cafe, and offers special events centered on mindfulness and reducing stress.

The immersive wellness experience has clearly made an impact in the community. “We’re humbled every day by what people tell us; it keeps us working here,” says Moon. “One of the most common things we hear from people is that they just feel better even walking through the doors. People feel good when they are here, and it’s about much more than fitness.”
