A change of plans led Chris Murphy to an early morning visit to a lakeside park. “I enjoy Grays Bay Dam Park for sunrises and the east side of the lake, north of the [the now closed] Old Log Theatre, overlooking Big Island, for sunsets,” Murphy says.
The impromptu photo session was fortuitous. “The series I shot that morning [was] some of the best I have done this year,” Murphy says, who also notes appreciation for this photo. “The spectrum of yellow to an almost purple sunrise with the crescent moon in the background really stood out to me that day.”
