A simple flower becomes a star in this winning photo.
Each month, we feature one of the winning photos from our 2018 Lens on Lake Minnetonka photo contest. This month, we asked photographer Nancy Cohodes to tell us about “Close Up,” which received first place in our Wildlife & Nature category.
When and where did you take the photo?
I captured the photo at Noerenberg Gardens, one of my favorite spots to take pictures of flowers and nature.
What’s your favorite thing about the image?
What inspired me to take a close-up shot of the flower is what I typically try to achieve, which is taking a different view or shot of something, besides the obvious shot.
What kind of camera did you use?
My camera is a Canon SL2, kit lens.
What’s your photography background?
My background stems from a lifelong interest in photography, but I really didn’t pursue it until I purchased my first DSLR four years ago. Now I can’t stop taking pictures wherever I go!
