Robb Nelson and Dave Wolden bring decades of experience to Lake Minnetonka’s Lafayette Club.
The Lafayette Club welcomes professionals Robb Nelson and Dave Wolden to its team to lead its golf and racquet sports programs. This is another step the club has taken in its ongoing efforts to improve member experience and strengthen its athletic program.
Nelson joined the club in December 2025 as head golf professional, following a search conducted with the PGA ExecuSearch and the Lafayette Selection Committee. Nelson’s passion for golf started in his youth while working as a caddy. Over two decades in the sport, he has contributed to the success of many country clubs, most recently including Wayzata’s Woodhill Country Club and Mendota Heights’ Somerset Country Club. He is known for creating a welcoming environment for players of all skill levels and experience.
Wolden officially became director of racquet sports this April. He was a Racquet Sports Professionals Association Elite Professional for 25 years and has a vast background in coaching and program leadership. Wolden served as the director of tennis at Wooster Country Club in Ohio, tennis professional at Minnetonka Tennis Club and Williston Fitness Center and assistant tennis professional at La Crosse Country Club in Wisconsin. His ultimate goal is to build excitement around the club’s racquet sport programs. “I hope to grow our program, so the tennis and pickleball courts are constantly full, and members will play one or more of the sports,” Wolden says. “Especially as there are physical, cognitive and social benefits to each.”
“We are pleased to welcome Robb and Dave,” says general manager and chief operating officer Al Jader. “They each bring a fresh perspective to our golf and racquet sports programs while honoring the history of the club.” As the two settle into their new roles, Lafayette Club looks forward to seeing how they will grow and strengthen the golf and racquet sports programs.
