Wayzata High School students launch a dockside food delivery service.

Long summer days and sultry temperatures make it tempting to stay out on the lake all day. Now, a new local company is making those lake life goals more attainable than ever.

Wayzata High School students Jack Reger (15), Williston Reger (14) and Max Alberti (15) launched Tonka Dash in June with the goal of simplifying dining. “We deliver food from restaurants directly to the docks, ensuring customers can enjoy their meals without ever needing to tie up or get off their boats,” Jack says.

The premise is simple: Place your order with one of the 20 available Wayzata and Excelsior restaurants. Once you have your estimated order time, go to tonkadash.com and schedule a Dasher by filling out the form. Add in a few distinguishing details like the make and color of your boat, along with contact information, and the Tonka Dash team will notify you when your order is ready and deliver it directly to the docks.
